Isaiah 42:10-18
Sing a new song to the LORD;
    sing [the LORD’s] praise everywhere on the earth.
Praise [the LORD], you people who sail on the seas and you animals who live in them.
    Praise [the LORD], you people living in faraway places.
The deserts and their cities should praise [the LORD].
    The settlements of Kedar should praise [the LORD].
The people living in Sela should sing for joy;
    they should shout from the mountaintops.
They should give glory to the LORD.
    People in faraway lands should praise [the LORD].
The LORD will march out like a strong soldier;
   [the LORD] will be excited like a [person] ready to fight a war.
[The LORD] will shout out the battle cry
    and defeat [their] enemies.

The LORD says, “For a long time I have said nothing;
    I have been quiet and held myself back.
But now I will cry out
    and strain like a woman giving birth to a child.
I will destroy the hills and mountains
    and dry up all their plants.
I will make the rivers become dry land
    and dry up the pools of water.
Then I will lead the blind along a way they never knew;
    I will guide them along paths they have not known.
I will make the darkness become light for them,
    and the rough ground smooth.
These are the things I will do;
    I will not leave my people.
But those who trust in idols,
    who say to their statues,
‘You are our gods’
    will be rejected in disgrace.
“You who are deaf, hear me.
    You who are blind, look and see.
(New Century Version (NCV))

Loving Divine Family,

We have heard the call of your Elders, “wait on the LORD, the day is near; wait on the LORD, be strong, take heart.” We have cried out to you, “how much longer, O LORD?” Here with you in this prayer space, we hear your response. You call to the earth to get ready for your coming day. Mother Earth, in her ancient wisdom, groans and moves at your call, and our paths become straight, leading clearly to you. Your time is coming.

O Yahweh, we continue to wait for the arrival of Jesus, like Mary, Joseph, Elizabeth, Zechariah, the prophets, and ancestors. We join the heavenly realms and your creation singing, “Joyful, joyful, we adore you. God of glory, LORD of Love!” (Henry Van Dyke)

I journey on the path with you today, LORD, and thank you for…

We cast our idols and tools of worship at your feet, LORD. We worship only you. We seek only you. We celebrate only you. Life-giving Spirit breathes around us and over our cast-away items. We feel Spirit’s cleansing within and without, and our items are shiny and new. You call us to pick up our instruments and tools and use them in a good way – in your way – to worship you and lead others on the journey. There is now only you, LORD. We praise you for your goodness and new life.

With joy, we praise you!
