Psalm 29:1-11
Praise the LORD, you angels;
    praise the LORD’S glory and power.
Praise the LORD for the glory of [their] name;
    worship the LORD because [the LORD] is holy.
The LORD’S voice is heard over the sea.
    The glorious God thunders;
    the LORD thunders over the ocean.
The LORD’S voice is powerful;
    the LORD’S voice is majestic.
The LORD’S voice breaks the trees;
    the LORD breaks the cedars of Lebanon.
[The LORD] makes the land of Lebanon dance like a calf
    and Mount Hermon jump like a baby bull.
The LORD’S voice makes the lightning flash.
The LORD’S voice shakes the desert;
    the LORD shakes the Desert of Kadesh.
The LORD’S voice shakes the oaks
    and strips the leaves off the trees.
In [the LORD’s] Temple everyone says, “Glory to God!”
The LORD controls the flood.
    The LORD will be King forever.
The LORD gives strength to [their] people;
    the LORD blesses [their] people with peace.

Loving Divine Family,

Your voice calls us to join you in your sacred prayer space. We are happy to join you. So powerful, yet so gentle; your voice rumbles in the heavens and throughout the earth. You call to us in thunder, wind, ocean currents, and in moving water. Yet you also call us in the stillness when all we hear is the whisper of your heartbeat in all things.

We, your beloved community come together singing,

“Praise the LORD, Praise the LORD, Let the earth hear [your] voice. Praise the LORD, Praise the LORD, let the people rejoice” (“To God Be the Glory”, Lou Fellingham).

Your voice, O LORD, causes lightning to flash and thunder to crack. Your voice is majestic and powerful. Thank you, LORD, for speaking quietly and gently in the stillness of our very inner being. Your voice is a gentle lullaby singing peace, hope, and joy. You give us strength and shower us with blessings. Thank you, loving Divine Family.

I hear your voice inviting me to participate in your mystery today, Yahweh, and thank you for…

We praise you in this quiet place. We feel, hear, and know you. We long to know you more. Your voice shakes the foundations of the earth, and we join all creation saying, “Glory to you, Yahweh!”

With joy, we praise you!
