Twenty-second Week of Ordinary Time, Friday, November 3, 2023
Loving Divine Family,
We prepare our lamps for longer nights–you will come without warning. We feel the strain of this broken world. We feel the pressure to stray from you. We light our candles as night falls. We light the tobacco in our ceremonial pipes and pray to you. Our prayers rise with the smoke, and your presence is a comfort to us. Be with us in our ceremony. There is room for you in our pipes.
Gracious Yahweh, we long to be close to you and worship you. Thank you for the counsel to be alert to the people who tell lies about you and want to exploit and destroy us. May we listen and follow you, so we can be who you created us to be.
I enter your sacred prayer space today, God of Mercy, and thank you for…
Do not depart from us. Draw close so we can feel your breath and hear your voice. Guide us, once again, into your light, to the eternal safety and rest of your Holy Mountain.
With joy we praise you!
Amen!
