Genesis 12:1-7

Loving Divine Family,

We pause as we journey on your Ancient Path, at the Holy Tree of Moreh, at Shechem. Our ancestors have returned to this ancient altar to hear your promises, bury their dead, anoint their kings, and to remember. From the tree, to the altar, to the ceremonies of anointing and remembering, you have always been with us.

We begin this new year, this new journey, pondering and celebrating the blessings we have received. It gives us the strength and the faith to let go of what is holding us back and to receive our new names and the blessings. We pause here to spend sacred time with you, to remember to remember you and  listen to you. Thank you for the landmarks, faith markers that remind us of your love for us and the blessings you have already given us. Word of God, speak; we your children are listening, relishing in the blessings.

I pause to worship you in this holy space today, O LORD, and thank you for…

Walk with us, O LORD, and continue to bless us on each step of our journey. We hold tight to nothing but your promise to Abram and Sarai. We worship only you. We remember and tell the stories passed down to us from our ancestors. We will forever honour your presence with us. May our loved ones bury us in this place of remembrance, among your faithful children.

With joy, we praise you!
