Praise to you, Jehovah Rapha (The Lord who heals), for you are the Almighty Healer. Thank you, Jesus Redeemer, for healing us so we are not only restored to our physical health, but also our mental, emotional, and spiritual health. We move and have our being while rejoicing, knowing it is only because of your love, mercy, and miraculous healing we are here today. Like the healing of Aeneas, our healing also will bring others to know your healing love for them.
Your hands are gentle upon us as you remove old and new dirt from our bodies, minds, and souls. We feel Life-giving Spirit’s breath drying and nurturing us like a summer breeze on our skin. Your forgiveness is perfect and complete in us. All praise to you!
Yahweh, we confess we want to hoard, to get revenge, to judge, and to retaliate against those who hurt us or who are different from us. In the quiet stillness of this space, we hear you call us your Beloved. Thank you for showing kindness and mercy to us and your creation. Thank you for gently reminding us to use our words and actions to bless and not to curse others.
Like the Winter Thunderbird brings snow to cover and protect the trees and all creation from the harsh elements, we feel you covering us with your peace. You sustain and protect us. May we praise you as our provider, as your strength lifts us above all that desires to break us. You are our strength and song.
We enter your sacred prayer space, seeking your light. You have told us of your love for us; our ancestors and descendants live in the embrace of your love. But your promise to sustain us throughout the ages also comes with stories that break our hearts. We feel the dreadful darkness of fear for ourselves and for future generations. You did not promise us an easy path, but that you will always walk with us. We lose our loved ones, parents and children, young and old. You give and take away all things in your timing, but always draw all things to your embrace. Hold us close, and help us to remember the stories of your mercy and love.
Your promise is true for us, O LORD. All we have experienced on our journey is for our eternal gain. We have journeyed with you and each other in a good way. As we continue our journey with you, we will remember to remember that great joy is waiting for us at the end of this holy, ancient path.
