First Week of Advent, Saturday, December 3, 2022
Today, we invite you to reread, rest and reflect on the prayers of the past week.
Lectionary Readings for Today:
Be with us each step of this journey, O Yahweh, for we are weak and frail in our humanness. You are our light; illumine and guide us. You are our shield; overshadow us. Christ under us; Christ over us; Christ beside us, on our left and our right. Be within and without us, all-powerful.
Open our eyes to the dangers around us. Open our ears to the wise Elders you have sent to us. Open our hearts to feel compassion for those in our care. Give us all we need to build shelters and protection for all you have entrusted to us.
Often, we think we are mighty and powerful. We act like we own everything and do not share. We say “mine, mine, mine!” Everything we have is yours, everything we are is because of you. May we never forget. O Loving Yahweh, thank you for preparing us for what is to come. May we hear your instructions and prepare.
I feel you guiding me on your path, LORD, and thank you for…
Bless this day, LORD, and our journey through it. We trust in your promise to sustain us and provide for our every need. Remove our worries and fears so we may journey well today upon your path and celebrate your goodness.
We are sojourners together on your ancient path. We desire to remain on this good path with you and stray neither to the left or the right. Your Elders guide us in their ways and demonstrate wise words and actions. We hear and feel those in the heavenly realm cheering us on. We follow you with absolute faith as we journey together.
With joyful hearts we join with creation and heavenly beings to praise you, LORD. You care for us and raise us up from the rubble. You are our God, and we are your people. We are so blessed.
