We pause and become aware of Life-giving Spirit’s heart pumping the blood of Christ through us and over us. O Spirit of Truth, speak, for we are listening with active listening. Thank you for guiding us in truth and preparing us for what is yet to come.
We cast our idols and tools of worship at your feet, LORD. We worship only you. We seek only you. We celebrate only you. Life-giving Spirit breathes around us and over our cast-away items. We feel Spirit’s cleansing within and without, and our items are shiny and new. You call us to pick up our instruments and tools and use them in a good way – in your way – to worship you and lead others on the journey. There is now only you, LORD. We praise you for your goodness and new life.
Your love and mercy are boundless, LORD. Your ways are perfect. Creation will sing your praises forever. The winds blow, and seasons turn. Your love and kingdom shall never end. Praise to you, Yahweh, King of endless glory!
Surround us with the reassurance of your loving faithfulness, LORD. Fill us with the memories and images of your ever-present love and protection as we continue on your path. May your joy be forever in our hearts, and may your praises be ever on our lips as we journey in your care.
Today, we invite you to ‘Reread, Rest and Reflect’ on the prayers of the past week.
Lectionary Readings for Today:
1 Corinthians 2:11-16
O Loving God, thank you for your loving presence and guidance that leads to an abundant life with you. Thank you, that what is impossible for people is possible with you. Thank you for being our safe place of refuge and for rescuing us, especially when it seems impossible to be rescued. We love you LORD, and we lift our voices to worship you.
