We have been following you, watching your miracles, and being your faithful disciples. We enter your sacred prayer space to find ourselves in the boat with you. You are fearless, speaking with and commanding demons. Yet, they come to you, proclaiming you are the Son of God. They obey your commands.
We enter your sacred prayer space, grateful that our names are written in your roster of faithful and worthy followers. We are not always obedient to your call. But you draw close to us in our anxiety. You press your lips to our ears and whisper: “My grace is enough. You are already victorious.”
You are our strength and shield; we will not fear the unknown. You bless us in your perfect timing. Though the way before us may not be clear, we will not fear, because you are with us. Be our hope in distress and our song in silence.
Bless us to journey with communities of believers, so we will point to the warnings you place before us. Give us peace, so when you place barriers before us, we will not be angry. We will follow your guidance for our lives.
Today, we invite you to reread, rest and reflect on the prayers of the past week.
Lectionary Readings for Today:
We gather on the mountaintop in the shadow of the Faith-marker shared long ago by your chosen disciples. In this sacred prayer space with you, so many things make sense to us. We long to stay in this place, but you lead us back to the valleys. Your light and love lead the way for us, to sojourn together as your chosen disciples.
