Today, we invite you to ‘Reread, Rest and Reflect’ on the prayers of the past week while listening to the Song of the Week:

We enter your sacred prayer space at your invitation. We hear your instructions to the leader of the Pharisees and his guests. We contemplate the meaning of the parable that Jesus told. You draw near to us and invite us to sit in the seat of honour around your table. Who are we, LORD, to be in a place of honour? How can we ever repay you, for you are the Creator of all that is. Anything we try to give to you in return is already yours.
Loving Yahweh, hear the cries of our hearts. Defend and protect the poor, needy, and parentless. Destroy the gods and idols that hold us back from being who you created us to be. Arise, O God, we turn to you.
Oh Yahweh, we pause here today to set our stones in place and remember your guidance, provision, and protection. We share with you and each other our stories of your miraculous ways. We celebrate that you are leading us on this Lenten journey. We pause at the stones we have placed from previous journeys and our hearts are filled with joy and laughter. In the act of remembering to remember, we see how marvellous you are and how your ways are so fricken amazing.
We enter your sacred prayer space carrying the guilt of our sins and of past generations. We have been taught to live by the letter of your law. We should surely burn in your furnace like the chaff of harvest. Yet, here we are, invited into your presence and embraced in your loving, strong arms. You choose to not mark our iniquities. We are marked only with your love.
Remain near us, Yahweh, so we will keep from condemning those whom you love. Keep us from passing judgement on others. Fill us with your love and compassion, so we will see others as you see them, and love others as you love them. We give ourselves to you so we will be your voice in this world.
We enter your sacred prayer space to spend time with you. We have been journeying daily together throughout the time of Advent, on your Holy Way, towards your Holy Mountain. Although we know and have experienced so much, we cannot help but wonder about the things you keep hidden from us. We don’t know what we don’t know, but we are afraid to ask. You tell us to ask anything of you, but we are afraid. Even still, you share your vision and promises with us, reassuring us as we journey.
