Genesis 8:13-19
Psalm 66:8-20
John 14:27-29
Loving Yahweh, your song of renewal and restoration brings joy to us. We breathe in your breath and allow your words “Do not be afraid” penetrate us bringing a calmness. Thank you for restoring and replenishing what has been taken from us. Creation and new birth is all around us, encouraging hope. Thank you for the work you do for us. Thank you, we will never again be ashamed.
In you, we find our shelter and protection. Never let us be put to shame. Thank you for hearing us call out to you to be our place of safety, fortress, and protection. In you, we find we are loved and created for a purpose; our confidence and identity comes from you and only you.
We feel peace and comfort as we enter your sacred prayer space. You encourage us to greet each other in a good way. We sometimes struggle with judgemental attitudes towards others. But your way is the way of patience, love, and peace. Your guidance is to bury the hatchet of judgement and prejudice, and to make things right with each other.
We enter your sacred prayer space carrying the burdens of fear, illness, and doubt. We feel deserted by our household gods. They cannot help us. You meet us here; you draw near and embrace us. We hear your voice and feel Life-giving Spirit’s comfort and assurance. We hear you praying for us, and we are calm.
Give us ears to hear your voice and mouths to speak your words and promises to our communities. Give us voices to sing your praises. Be in the hearts of all who we will meet today, and in the mouths of our Elders and guides who will bring your messages to us.
Today, we invite you to reread, rest and reflect on the prayers of the past week.
