Nineteenth Week of Ordinary Time, Saturday, October 14, 2023
Today, we invite you to reread, rest and reflect on the prayers of the past week.
Lectionary Readings for Today:
Psalm 23
Isaiah 24:17-23
Mark 2:18-22
We have journeyed so far with you already. You, LORD, are our Shepherd and our hiding place. You have stayed with us and sheltered us from storms and harm. We find shelter once again, in your sacred prayer space. We hear your voice and feel your peace.
We step off the precipice of a new year; from your threshold, we launch into a new journey with you. We give thanks for your faithfulness to journey with us. We pause, in the shadow of this faith-marker, to worship you.
Loving Yahweh, you are our dwelling place. Thank you, this dwelling place is a divine gift, where we can hide and find refuge in you, where we can find ourselves in you. “In holiness you stand secure through culture’s shifting sands…From everlasting to everlasting you are God” (Brian Doerksen, “Everlasting”).
Today, we invite you to reread, rest and reflect on the prayers of the past week.
Lectionary Readings for Today:
Psalm 80:1-7, 17-19
Micah 2:1-13
Matthew 24:15-31
We join with creation singing your praises Yahweh. You care for us and provide for us. You are merciful, gracious, and slow to anger. Thank you, we bless you by telling of your mighty deeds. It brings us great joy to worship you.
We gather early in the day to receive your wisdom and strength for the day. Even before we arrive, you are already in your sacred prayer space. Your teachings fill us to overflowing. You fill us with every good and wise thought.
