Twelfth Week after Pentecost, Saturday, September 3, 2022
Today, we invite you to reread, rest and reflect on the prayers of the past week.
Lectionary Readings for Today:
Deuteronomy 29:2-20
Psalm 1:1-6
Matthew 10:34-42
We celebrate with our brothers and sisters. We praise you for the children who are born into your family lineage, for their potential and your promise over each one of them. We place all life in your hands; the lives of the children, both born and unborn, are yours. Love them even more than we ever could. Hold them in your loving embrace in this world, and in the world which is to come.
Your forgiveness is true and complete. You call us your blessed children; you lovingly call our names. You instruct us once again in the way we should go. We seek to understand your ways. With all our faith in you, we step forward on the path you have chosen for us. We journey together once again with you and each other in a good way.
We wait for you, LORD. Your day is near. Lift us from the darkness and set us on the good path of light and life that leads to eternity with you on your holy mountain. May we forever be in your presence. May we forever sing of your goodness.
With joy we praise you!
All-powerful God, you love us. Although you give us the best of the best, we insist on doing things our own way and then we blame you and tell lies about you. Instead of calling out to you and obeying your instructions, we go to other sources for help. When we turn and listen to you, we lay aside the lies we tell ourselves about you. Thank you, your breath is just as close as an inhale away. Thank you for being so close to us and giving your word as skills for living.
Maker of heaven and earth, thank you for the gift of life and the gift of your creation. We are filled with joy because we place our hope in you. We are blessed because you are our help, provider, and God. Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ.
O Loving God, we your children closest to your heart sing your praises. You have done marvelous things, creating everything with a purpose and a home of belonging. Everything is interconnected and dependent on one another.
