John 4:5-42

Loving Divine Family,

We gather at Jacob’s Well, in this land of our ancestors. You blessed those who ran before us in their journey along your Ancient Path to rest in the land you prepared for them in advance. Here is where we find your sacred prayer space. We find you waiting for us. You invite us to draw water for you as you reveal that you know everything about us.

Jesus Christ, Son of God, thank you for coming as a human to be our light on earth. Thank you through your vulnerability of needing water, you broke down the boundaries of gender, culture, and social status to build community and empower the water-carrier and her community. Thank you that your words shed light and bring clarity of mind. Thank you for the gift of Life-giving Water.

I receive water from your blessed well today, O LORD, and thank you for…

We will dwell here with you, in the fields of our ancestors. We will follow your ways, sow and reap in season, glorify you, bless our children, bury our dead, and find ceremony with you. Reveal to us the faith-markers of old, and equip us to build new ones for generations to come.

With joy we praise you!

Amen!

Cherie and Donovan Mutschler
