Isaiah 50:4-9a
The Lord GOD gave me the ability to teach
so that I know what to say to make the weak strong.
Every morning [they] wake me.
[They] teach me to listen like a student.
The Lord GOD helps me learn,
and I have not turned against [them]
    nor stopped following [them].
I offered my back to those who beat me.
I offered my cheeks to those who pulled my beard.
I won’t hide my face from them
when they make fun of me and spit at me.
The Lord GOD helps me,
so I will not be ashamed.
I will be determined,
and I know I will not be disgraced.
[God] shows that I am innocent, and [the LORD] is close to me.
    So who can accuse me?
If there is someone, let us go to court together.
If someone wants to prove I have done wrong,
[they] should come and tell me.
Look! It is the Lord GOD who helps me.
So who can prove me guilty?
Look! All those who try will become useless like old clothes;
    moths will eat them.

Loving Divine Family,

We enter your sacred prayer space to dialogue and debrief. We feel you draw close to us. You are our protector and defender. You give us tongues to speak and ears to hear. You give us discernment in your community so we can recognize and stay away from the Intruder.

Thank you, Yahweh, for each day, and waking us each morning with your life-giving breath. We hear you sing over us, “Good morning to you. I love you, my Beloved.” We are grateful for how you teach us how to live an abundant life. Thank you for helping us. Thank you for being with us and protecting us from being ashamed.

I receive your discernment and wisdom today, LORD, and thank you for…

You have cleared our names, O LORD. We are blemish-free, cleansed by your Spirit. Be in the ears and hearts of others we speak with, and in the mouths of those who speak with us. Surround us on all sides and bless our thoughts, words, and actions.

With joy we praise you!
