Luke 14:15-24 (New Life Version) by Mark Beingessner

Luke 14:15-24

Loving Divine Family,

O, how far we have strayed from you, our LORD and our God! We are caught up in the busyness of life so much that we ignore or decline your invitations to spend time with you. Your invitation brings life and peace if we choose to accept it. Your desire is to give us all we need for our journey. But we think our own actions and possessions are more important. You invite us to join you in your temple, experience your great banquet, and participate in your mystery.

Thank you for the gift of community, the opportunity to spend time with you and others. Thank you for wanting to spend time with us and a time of celebration. May we follow your instructions and prepare our hearts, so we are ready to answer your invitation with a joyful “Yes!” and “Thank you!”

I hear your invitation to come to your banquet today, Loving LORD, and thank you for…

Grant us the wisdom to pause and accept your invitations today, O LORD. Help us to remember that only by starting our day with you, can we then properly care for the land, creation, and our loved ones. We seek your provisions for the day, so we may walk your path in a good way.

With joy we praise you!
