Deuteronomy 12:1-12

Loving Divine Family,

We enter your sacred prayer space preparing for worship. As we arrive, you welcome us as we are, even though we still carry our worldly idols and household gods. You open your space to us and offer us room to lay these down in your presence. We struggle to release what we have gathered and built with our own hands. But you remind us of our journey yet to come, the destination where other gods and idols are useless. You invite us to empty ourselves so you can fill us.

We, your children, worship you in this sacred holy time. We let go of the gods, rituals, idols, and activities that distract us from you. Instead, we feast and celebrate with you. Thank you for all the blessings you have given us and will give us. Thank you for our inheritance and rest. We settle down with you and rejoice in you.

I release my worldly idols and household gods to you today, Loving Creator, and thank you for…

We celebrate that you are with us on our journey. We praise and worship you in this place on our path. Thank you for being with us each step of the way and for your guidance and wisdom that allow us to journey in a good way.

With joy we praise you!
