Tapestry Daily Prayers

Give us the spirit of contentment, so our uncertainties will scatter in the wind like chaff from the wheat. Fill us with your daily manna, so we will not look elsewhere for spiritual food. We will look with amazement at the wonder of your creation, and accept your invitation to participate in your great mystery.

Thank you for this precious time with you. Speak, LORD, for your servants are listening, wanting to draw near to you. Thank you for giving us what we need for the day, so we stay close to you.

We enter your sacred prayer space as we are. We have good and bad days. We rage and feel bitter about the injustices of the world around us. We sometimes wonder why arrogant people prosper. But you remind us of your promise to us. You count us among your righteous. Our destiny is not the destiny of arrogance.

The desire of our hearts is to worship you and give you honour. Give us endurance, so we will wear your garments and run the race you have called us to. We will sojourn upon your Ancient Path in a good way.

Maker of Heaven and Earth and All Creation, we thank you for this holy, sacred time with you. We take heed of the danger you bring to our attention. We find refuge and protection in you.

The seasons turn; we stand on the precipice between summer and autumn. Leaves also turn, as ancestor trees remember the chill that has returned in the night air and daytime breezes. They prepare by drawing inward and letting their foliage fall. You remind us again of your statutes and decrees, encouraging us to keep them with us as we prepare to cross the threshold into autumn.

We want to repay you for your faithful promises. Turn our gratitude to generosity, so we will respond to your goodness by giving generously to others. Bless our deeds, so they will benefit you and those around us.

Divine Family, you speak words of hope, love, and blessings. Thank you for the example of all people of faith showing us how to put our trust and confidence in you. Thank you for blessing and providing for our family and friends.

We love to bask in your presence, listening to your voice and learning your ways. Your guidance teaches us to remain silent until your wisdom fills us. We are not perfect, but we are learning to speak with your values of truth, love, patience, and compassion.
