We celebrate your promises, trusting you are near to us and are making yourself known in your perfect time. Come to us again; return us unto your mansion, that where you are, we will also forever be.
We, your people, come together to worship you. We long to please you. We prepare our hearts and minds to begin the season of Lent in a few days. We quiet ourselves so we can hear you say, “I love you, my beloved children. You are forgiven; now listen to my voice of love.”
We gather on the mountaintop in the shadow of the Faith-marker shared long ago by your chosen disciples. In this sacred prayer space with you, so many things make sense to us. We long to stay in this place, but you lead us back to the valleys. Your light and love lead the way for us, to sojourn together as your chosen disciples.
Today, we invite you to reread, rest and reflect on the prayers of the past week.
Lectionary Readings for Today:
1 Kings 16:1-7
Give us unshaken faith, so we will follow you and not ask where we are going. Give us your wisdom, so we will know beyond a doubt that you are leading us to our new home in your kingdom.
We have been following you, watching your miracles, and being your faithful disciples. We enter your sacred prayer space to find ourselves in the boat with you. You are fearless, speaking with and commanding demons. Yet, they come to you, proclaiming you are the Son of God. They obey your commands.
Clear the way before us, O LORD, so we will see a clear path as we journey towards home. Give us faith and courage, so we will keep our eyes on you and receive your full restoration.
