Today, we invite you to ‘Reread, Rest and Reflect’ on the prayers of the past week.
Lectionary Readings for Today:
2 Kings 2:1-15
Psalm 104:24-35
Luke 1:5-17
I see your blessings throughout the generations today, Loving Yahweh, and thank you for…
Your nourishing waters feed and fill us. You make us strong and sure; our roots run deep and our wings make us soar on the wind of your Spirit. All is through the gift of your Spirit, grace, mercy, and lovingkindness. We rejoice in your ways and how you sustain us.
Life-giving Spirit, thank you for walking with us. Thank you for your fruit that gives love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Thank you that when we walk with you and consume your fruit we ourselves produce the same qualities.
Fill us with your love so that it may overflow into others. Remove from us the limitations of human understanding and replace our lack of understanding with your mystery and limitless purpose, love, and gentleness. We long to know your ways more each day.
We gather together at your Beautiful Gate in worship and celebration. We are your Holy Priesthood from different walks of life and callings. We bring our gifts today and share them before you. These gifts are our sacrifice. We set aside our own agendas and devote ourselves to you. At the trumpet call, we all shout for joy and enter the sanctuary of your sacred prayer space. You surround us and hide our own desires from us so all we know is your perfect glory.
Thank you, Yahweh, for your loving presence guiding us and never leaving us. In our darkest moments, in the Dark Night of the Soul, you are there with us. Singing songs of praise and thanksgiving brings us comfort and strength. We receive your peace and ask for what we need.
You have taught us to pray through examples from Jesus and Prayer Warriors within our community. Continue to draw near to us; encourage us to pray with our hearts, not just with our heads. Draw us beyond human logic and understanding into the depths of your great mystery, so we may sojourn together in a good way.
Today, we invite you to ‘Reread, Rest and Reflect’ on the prayers of the past week.
Lectionary Readings for Today:
Exodus 33:18-23
Psalm 97:1-12
John 1:14-18
Forbid it, LORD, that we should ever take your promises for granted or act carelessly because of your grace and mercy. Instead, place in us the deep desire to wait for you, and to follow wherever you lead us. Give us wisdom in our community to go as you direct us, so we may walk a good path and greet each other in a good way.
We breathe in your holy breath that gives life and breathe out your love. Thank you for the mysterious clouds that protect us and remind us of your blessings and presence while we wait. Abba Father and Jesus Christ, our Redeemer, thank you for the gift of the Holy Spirit who gently speaks love, kindness and gentleness, and who guides us.
