Our cries join the cloud of witnesses, and Jesus echoes, “My God, My God, why have you abandoned me?” Thank you for hearing our cries and prayers. You are not scandalized by them. You are our strength. Praise to you. “People who are not yet born will hear what God has done.” Thank you, for we are the “People who are not born yet.” Thank you for answering David’s and Jesus’ prayer. Thank you for the gift of prophecy.
Your love is so amazing, LORD. We feel your deep, deep love for us. We commit to following your ways. We commit to showing your love to others and greet each other in a good way, with peace and compassion in these difficult days.
With joy we praise you!
Thank you, Yahweh, for each day, and waking us each morning with your life-giving breath. We hear you sing over us, “Good morning to you. I love you, my Beloved.” We are grateful for how you teach us how to live an abundant life. Thank you for helping us. Thank you for being with us and protecting us from being ashamed.
We come together today to spend time with you. We are weary, tired, and worn out. So many messages are coming at us, and none of them make sense. Thank you for the invitation to the gift of solitude with you. A place where we can hide in your loving embrace, to hear your love, and to prepare for what is to come.
We enter your sacred prayer space to hear your voice and feel your peace. You have gone before us to prepare everything in advance. We have all we need because you know us so intimately. You have removed the old religious ways, the man-made requirements for pleasing God. You show us your new way.
