Today, we invite you to reread, rest and reflect on the prayers of the past week.
Lectionary Readings for Today:
Psalm 133
Daniel 2:24-49
John 12:44-50
We trust in you with all our hearts. Guide us in your ways. Give us the foundation we need to walk in faith with you for all our days upon this earth.
Loving Yahweh, you are with us, caring for us. We are your gifts and you are full of grace and mercy. You lead us and help us. Thank you, we find grace and favour, so we can live out who you created us to be.
We gather at the tomb of our LORD, in the shadow of the gravestone. This is a Faith-marker of all creation. In this sacred prayer space, you welcome and embrace us. In the bright morning, you share the greatest of news with us – the LORD is risen!
With your hands upon us, we are content to remain with you and not to be shaken by the world around us. Fill us with your purpose. We will stand firm and do your good work upon this earth!
Almighty Creator, you created something from nothing. You are in the darkness, in the chaos and in the formless void, creating and bringing forth life. You look at your creation and see that it is good. Thank you for having a place for everything and a purpose. We marvel at your goodness.
Hallelujah! The LORD is risen! He is risen, indeed! We run to the garden to discover that Mother Earth has released you at your command. Grave, where is your victory? Death, where is your sting? Our LORD has broken the gates of Hell. Our LORD has returned just as he said he would!
Today, we invite you to reread, rest and reflect on the prayers of the past week.
Lectionary Readings for Today:
Job 14:1-14 or Lamentations 3:1-9, 19-24
Psalm 31:1-4, 15-16
1 Peter 4:1-8
Matthew 27:57-66 or John 19:38-42
We believe this is not the end, but only the beginning! When from death we are free, we will still sing and be joyful; for the rest of our days on this earth and into eternity are in your presence, our future is in your hands.
With joy we praise you!
Loving Yahweh, thank you for sharing your prayer space with us. Thank you for Mary’s act of love, washing Jesus’ feet with tears and perfume in preparation for his death. Thank you for Jesus’ act of love, washing the disciples’ feet that prepared them for their upcoming life. Thank you for cleansing us with water of life, which is love. We pray others will know we are your disciples because of our love for you, ourselves, and others.
